② 速干。顏料在落筆后幾分鐘即可干燥，不必像油畫作品那樣完成后需等幾個月才能上光。喜歡慢干特性顏料的畫家可用延緩劑來延緩顏料干燥時間。

③ 著色層干后會迅速失去可溶性，同時形成堅韌、有彈性的不滲水的膜。這種膜類似于橡膠。
